Obama Administration’s Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP) Update
November 13, 2011-
The Administration’s recovery efforts continue to help millions of families deal with the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. More than 5.3 million modification arrangements were started between April 2009 and the end of September 2011 – including more than 1.7 million HAMP trial modification starts, more than 1,064,000 FHA loss mitigation and early delinquency interventions, and more than 2.5 million proprietary modifications under HOPE Now. Many of these modifications are a direct result of the standards and processes the Administration’s programs have established. While some homeowners may have received help from more than one program, the total number of agreements offered continues to more than double the number of foreclosure completions for the same period (2.3 million). More than 850,000 homeowners have received a HAMP permanent modification to date, with a median payment reduction of over $520 each month.
-
Even as new delinquencies continue to fall, eligible homeowners entering HAMP have a high likelihood of earning a permanent modification and realizing long-term success. Eighty percent of eligible homeowners entering a HAMP trial modification since June 1, 2010 received a permanent modification, with an average trial period of 3.5 months. After six months in the program, more than 94 percent of homeowners remain in their HAMP permanent modification. Homeowners in HAMP permanent modifications have saved an estimated $8.8 billion to date. View the September MHA Servicer Performance Report.

Kaine Joins GOTV Efforts With Loudoun and Prince William County Events Sunday
November 5, 2011We have just five days to Get Out the Vote so that we can elect more Democratic voices to the State Senate, House of Delegates and local offices.
With the Republicans controlling the rest of state government, our slim, four-seat majority in the State Senate is the only thing standing in the way of the Tea Party’s agenda. And voter turnout could be the deciding factor in Tuesday’s elections.
That’s why I’m lending a hand to candidates and volunteers across the Commonwealth for this weekend’s get-out-the-vote efforts — attending rallies and visibility events, knocking on doors and making vital phone calls to identify last minute voters. On Sunday, I’ll be in Northern Virginia, and I hope you can join me on the campaign trail. I’ve included the details below.
Join me:

Woodbridge, VA 22192Protecting our four-seat majority in the State Senate is critical to protecting investments in education and infrastructure, and maintaining the safety net for those who are struggling. And your support for our candidates can make a big difference and goes a long way toward helping my 2012 campaign. Thank you for your continued commitment.
Sincerely,
Tim Kaine
Kaine Campaign Contiunes Pushing Importance of 2011 Election Outcomes
November 1, 2011
This is crunch time for our state legislative elections, and we just got another shocking reminder of the hateful politics that some of our Democratic candidates are up against.
Yesterday, one of the most influential Republican committees in the Commonwealth distributed an image of Barack Obama with a bullet in his head. Thankfully, the image was widely condemned by folks on both sides of the aisle, including Governor McDonnell and the Republican Party of Virginia. Virginia prides itself on balance and civility in our politics — and there is simply no place for this type of divisiveness and hatred in our Commonwealth.
Governor Kaine has a proven track record of working to find common ground to solve Virginia’s challenges. And now, more than ever, it’s important to send a message that we need leaders in the State Senate, House of Delegates, and local offices who will use that same approach to get things done. That’s why we need your help.
We need to pull out all the stops to prevent the GOP from having control of the Governor’s Mansion, the House of Delegates, and the State Senate. We have to work together to ensure this doesn’t happen.
We need Delegates who are committed to leaving partisan politics aside and who will prevent those who aren’t interested in working together from decimating education funding, laying off state workers, and slashing key safety net programs in the Commonwealth’s budget.
The Governor’s commitment to supporting candidates who will work for common ground is strong, but they need your help as well. Will you support our House Delegate candidates today?
There is just one week to go. Every dollar makes a difference for the House Delegate candidates running, and a strong commitment to Democrats helps Governor Kaine’s campaign in 2012. Thank you for all that you do.

2011 Virginia Absentee Information
November 1, 2011
In just 7 days the elections to decide the State Senate, the House of Delegates and hundreds of local elections will come to an end. If you are already planning to vote on Election Day please make sure you have time to do so between 6AM-7PM on Election Day. If you will be unable to vote on Election Day due to work or travel or other reasons, please make sure you make arrangements to cast your vote by absentee ballot in the mail or in-person.
The deadline to apply for an absentee ballot is today at 5PM. You can download an application form here.
You can also cast an absentee ballot in-person at your local registrar’s office by Saturday, November 5th. You can find the location of your registrar by clicking here.
These elections will decide what kind of Commonwealth we live in for the next few years. We cannot afford for a single Democrat to sit out while the Republicans are running to take total control over our government and impose their Tea Party agenda on middle class families. Please take whatever steps you can to make sure your voice is heard either on Election Day or beforehand through the absentee ballot.
Thank you for all you do,

Brian J. Moran
