Third and Final Presidential Debate Wednesday!

The Third Presidential Debate is scheduled for Wednesday, October 15 at 9:00pm EST
Site: Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York
Scheduled Topics: Domestic and Economic Policy
Moderator: Republican, Bob Schieffer
Staging: Currently candidates are supposed to be seated at a table
Answer Format: Same as First Presidential Debate
Special Note …. Closing Statements: At the end of this debate each candidate shall have the opportunity for a 90 second closing statement.

This is what my friend Mike Finn, Chair of the York-Poquoson Democratic Committee thinks: “In my opinion, Barack Obama passed the critical “Commander-in-chief” threshold test in his first debate with John McCain. He essentually sealed the deal in the second debate. I doubt that anything that happens on Wednesday night’s final debate will change the public’s perception by much. Obama just needs to continue to be Cool Hand Luke: calm, reassuring, and projecting competence. Distractions won’t work for the Republicans this year. Citizens are worried about whether they will have jobs next year. Many retired seniors have seen their retirement nest eggs evaporate in the market melt down. McCain has been too erratic in his reactions to the crisis. Serious minded Republicans who I have talked with are furious to have to defend the choice of Sarah Palin as being qualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency. The McCain campaign’s recent attempt to go hard negative has backfired, arousing passions that are best kept in check.”
