Some emails come bringing shock and sadness … today this one arrived about my good friend John Michael Finn a proud husband and father, author, professor in the Department of Physics at the College of William and MaryChair of the York-Poquoson Democratic Commitee … and so much more … the email follows:

It is with heavy heart that I report the passing of the York Committee chair, my father, John Michael Finn, 63 of Williamsburg. He died suddenly this morning. Details will follow once arrangements have been made.

    Update:

Again I am using my father’s account to share some information from the family.

Viewing and Visitation will be at 6pm Sunday, Feb 8th; at Bucktrout Funeral Home (4124 Ironbound Road) Williamsburg, VA.

Funeral service and mass will be on Monday the 9th of February at 3pm, at St. Olaf’s Catholic Church (104 Norge Lane) Norge, VA.

A reception will be held afterwards and directions will be provided.

The Family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to an educational fund which we are still in the process of setting up.

We are all extremely grateful for the outpouring of support and compassion.

    Thanks, Mike Finn (Son)
