Democratic Party of Virginia Unifies Behind “Deeds, Wagner, Shannon” Ticket

Our Democratic Party’s gubernatorial nominee, Creigh Deeds was greeted at the DPVA headquarters in Richmond by Governor Tim Kaine … he appeared along side Brian Moran, and Terry McAuliffe … check out the video

…. and here’s a few words from Senator Mark Warner …

Last night, after a spirited primary contest, Creigh Deeds was selected as our Democratic nominee for Governor.

While the race was the most competitive we’ve seen in some time, all three candidates — Creigh, Terry McAuliffe and Brian Moran — campaigned with one over-arching priority: to keep moving Virginia forward.

We now have a strong, solid statewide ticket led by Creigh with Jody Wagner for lieutenant governor and Steve Shannon for attorney general.

With the general election ahead of us, we now must harness everyone’s energy and hard work to ensure that we keep building on the progress we’ve made since 2001.

This Saturday, Virginia Democrats will come together to rally behind our statewide nominees and work together to once again earn the trust of Virginia voters by demonstrating that we can win elections and then govern responsibly with a pragmatic approach to addressing our challenges.

Join me and Creigh in Williamsburg — along with Governor Kaine, Senator Webb, and other Virginia Democratic leaders — as we officially kick-off the general election campaign.

Here are the details:

What: Unity Rally and BBQ Picnic
When: June 13th at Noon
Where: William and Mary Alumni House
500 Richmond Road
Williamsburg, VA 23185

Our opponents are more determined than ever to try to take back the governor’s office. And we need partners in Richmond who are dedicated to creating jobs, improving our public schools, and making smart investments in our Commonwealth’s economic future.

That’s why it is more important than ever that we work together to build on the progress we’ve made so that we can continue moving our Commonwealth forward.

Hope to see you on Saturday,
Mark
