Virginia Benefits From Stimulus Bill Improve Our Commonwealth’s Financial Condition

I have confirmed the following direct benefits the Commonwealth of Virginia is estimated to receive as a direct result of the stimulus bill:

-Aid for State Budget Shortfalls
Virginia: $1.2 billion

-Medicaid
Virginia: $1.5 billion

-Transportation and Infrastructure
Virginia: $890.6 million

-Education- Grants for disadvantaged (direct to local districts)
Virginia: $155.4 million

-Educational Technology
Virginia: $10.3 million

-Education – Head Start
Virginia: $11.2 million

-Child Care
Virginia: $37.9 million

-Employment and Training
Virginia: $40 million

-Food Stamps
Virginia: $355.8 million

-Elderly Nutrition
Virginia: $3 million

-Homeless Assistance
Virginia: $1 million

Total state allocation
Virginia: $4.6 billion
