Yesterday, one of the most influential Republican committees in the Commonwealth distributed an image of Barack Obama with a bullet in his head. Thankfully, the image was widely condemned by folks on both sides of the aisle, including Governor McDonnell and the Republican Party of Virginia. Virginia prides itself on balance and civility in our politics — and there is simply no place for this type of divisiveness and hatred in our Commonwealth.
Governor Kaine has a proven track record of working to find common ground to solve Virginia’s challenges. And now, more than ever, it’s important to send a message that we need leaders in the State Senate, House of Delegates, and local offices who will use that same approach to get things done. That’s why we need your help.
We need to pull out all the stops to prevent the GOP from having control of the Governor’s Mansion, the House of Delegates, and the State Senate. We have to work together to ensure this doesn’t happen.
We need Delegates who are committed to leaving partisan politics aside and who will prevent those who aren’t interested in working together from decimating education funding, laying off state workers, and slashing key safety net programs in the Commonwealth’s budget.
The Governor’s commitment to supporting candidates who will work for common ground is strong, but they need your help as well. Will you support our House Delegate candidates today?
There is just one week to go. Every dollar makes a difference for the House Delegate candidates running, and a strong commitment to Democrats helps Governor Kaine’s campaign in 2012. Thank you for all that you do.
